Concert The viral Coldplay concert hug of former Astronomer executives Kristin Cabot and Andy Byron has upended their careers. There was widespread speculation about infidelity by Cabot and Byron as their intimate moment was caught in the camera but according to reports, Kristin’s husband, Andrew Cabot was also present at the Gillette Stadium that night with his girlfriend, enjoying the same concert.
At the Music of the Spheres tour, the camera focused on Cabot and Byron showing them on the stadium screen in embrace. Lead singer Chris Martin’s jovial remark, “Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy” sparked memes, commentary, and intense public scrutiny. The next day, Byron resigned, on the ground of breach of corporate conduct. A few days later, Cabot also stepped down. Media reports said that Cabot felt that hug was inappropriate only in a workplace context. Kristin and Andy had a professional friendship. Some other media reports suggested that there was no affair. The scandal and job loss were just unfair.
Meanwhile, Kristin’s husband, who was earlier reported to be in Japan at the time of concert, was very much present at the same Coldplay show in Seattle, but with his own date, said a new report. The Independent reported that Kristin and her husband, Andrew Cabot, had been living separately for several weeks. It was amicable. Kristin was in the box with people from work, though it wasn’t a company box, and Andrew was actually there too with a date, with a woman who is now his girlfriend.” On August 13, Andrew had already filed for divorce. Andrew and his wife were privately and amicably separated several weeks before the Coldplay concert. After the viral video, Byron’s wife Megan Kerrigan and the Bancroft School’s Associate Director of Lower School and Hope Graham Program Admission, removed her last name from her Facebook profile. She even deactivated her profile.
