York United FC defender Oswaldo León will serve a 10-game suspension for misconduct, issued by the Canada Soccer Disciplinary Panel and stemming from an incident during the club’s match against Halifax Wanderers FC on Sept. 1, 2025.

The charge was issued to León Sept. 5, 2025 by the Canada Soccer Incident Review Body, pursuant to Section 4.3 of the Canada Soccer Discipline Code.

York United denied the allegations on behalf of the player and subsequently participated in a virtual hearing with the Canada Soccer Disciplinary Panel on Sept 18, 2025.

The Disciplinary Panel this week determined the charge was substantiated and required Leon to serve the standard minimum sanction for the offence.

Canada Soccer is responsible for on-field disciplinary matters for the Canadian Premier League, pursuant to Canada Soccer’s Disciplinary Code and Professional Soccer Club Disciplinary Annex.
