UFC Perth is almost here. Saturday morning (Australia time,) the show’s official weigh-in window took place in Western Australia. There’s been a slight alteration to the planned schedule of events for this weekend’s show.

Two Contestants Withdraw from UFC Perth Ahead of Card

Initially on tomorrow evening’s main card (10 pm ET/ 7 pm PT, ESPN+), Justin Tafa was slated to have fought Louie Sutherland in a heavyweight tilt before the former fell ill, resulting in UFC officials postponing the heavyweight contest. Sutherland, however, successfully made weight at 259 lbs.

This wasn’t the only fight to be scrubbed ahead of Saturday night’s itinerary. A welterweight affair on the undercard (7 pm ET/ 4 pm PT, ESPN+) was scrubbed on Friday morning in the Southern Hemisphere after Oban Elliott took ill, cancelling his planned contest versus Jonathan Micallef. As a result, UFC Perth now has 12 fights on the card.

UFC Perth Weigh-Ins See Tavares Narrowly Miss Target Saturday Morning

Saturday’s official weigh-ins weren’t without their problems. Aside from Justin Tafa resigning from the card due to illness, a featherweight contestant just missed weighing-in on-target today.

Ramon Tavares (147 lbs) exceeded the 146-lb nontitle maximum by a single pound at the scales today. His adversary, Jack Jenkins (146 lbs) made weight without issue.

UFC Perth Main, Co-Main Events Locked In With Official Weigh-In Window

Both the main and co-main events will proceed as planned after the Saturday morning weigh-ins. No. 3 contender Carlos Ulberg (205 lbs) and No. 7 contender Dominick Reyes (206 lbs) came in either slightly below or at the nontitle maximum for light heavyweights.

UFC Perth’s co-headliner sees more light heavyweight action taking place when Australia’s Jimmy Crute (205 lbs) meets Ivan Erslan (206 lbs.)
