NASCAR Cup Series driver Daniel Suarez has dropped a big hint about his future in the sport, suggesting that he is here to stay in 2026. Suarez parted ways with Trackhouse Racing on mutual terms, with the current season marking his last with the team.

Suarez secured two Cup victories with Trackhouse since he joined the team in 2021. However, his exit from Trackhouse raised concerns about his future in the Cup Series, given the lack of full-time seats, and especially since he did not have a backup plan in place when his exit was announced.

The reason for his split with Trackhouse is not known, although both parties insist that the separation is a result of a mutual understanding.

Now though, the 33-year-old driver has likely confirmed a deal with another team, and spoke about the imminent announcement next month. He told 11Alive:

“Yeah, things are looking good. That’s all I can say. Hopefully we can announce what we’re going to do next month, I think. I think next month it should be already public, but I’m happy where I am.

“That’s all I can say. I’m very, very blessed. I have so many great people on my corner, so many great sponsors as well, and things are looking good.”

When asked if it was a done deal, Suarez clarified, saying:

“Well, it’s not a done deal. If it was done, you guys would know already, but things are looking good.”

It remains unclear if Suarez has secured a seat in the Cup Series or the Xfinity Series, which will be called the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series next year. The Athletic’s Jordan Bianchi reviewed Suarez’s options for the 2026 season last month and concluded that his most viable option would be to race in the Xfinity Series next season.

He also ruled out Suarez from entering free agency next year, as that would be highly risky for his career. Newsweek Sports reported his comments:

“Unfortunately for Suarez, he’s entering free agency at a time when not a lot of viable options exist. Nearly all 36 full-time seats are already taken for next season. This is why many within the industry thought Suárez’s best opportunity to reset his career was to take a ride in NASCAR’s second-tier Xfinity Series, likely with Kaulig Racing or JR Motorsports, then re-enter free agency a year from now in what is anticipated to be a much more robust market.”
