OPENING PITCH VS LE MOYNE
Saint Francis University opens conference play on the road this Sunday at Ted Grant Field against Le Moyne College.
The Red Flash are looking for their first team win of the season and their first conference win to start off on a strong note.
Their last meeting with Le Moyne on November 3, 2024, ended in a 4-0 home victory in Loretto.
Coming off a 4-2 home loss to Bucknell, Saint Francis will aim to carry the confidence from that previous win over the Dolphins into this season’s first conference matchup.
THE WORD ON THE DOLPHINS
Le Moyne College enters Wednesday’s matchup at Ted Grant Field with a 1–6 record, including a three-game losing streak.
The Dolphins are seeking their first team win and first conference win of the season after a series of competitive games on the road, including a 0–2 result at Niagara University.
Their lone victory came at home against St. Bonaventure University, a 2–1 result on September 3, 2025.
Offensively, Le Moyne has scored four goals through seven games.
Jakob Priestman leads the Dolphins with four goals, while Cameron Stuart has contributed six assists, supporting the team’s attacking efforts.
Other key contributors include Felix Ludemann and Andrew Piccolo, who have logged significant minutes and shots on goal. In goal, Wyatt Dupell has played every minute, providing stability in net.
LAST TIME WE MET
In their previous meeting on November 3, 2024, Saint Francis men’s soccer defeated Le Moyne 4-0 at Stokes Soccerplex on Senior Day.
Jacob Adams, Rodrigo Mendes, Alex De Nittis, and Joschi Schelb all scored, while Schelb, Torren Aikens, Quinn O’Hearn, and Andre Isreal contributed assists.
The Red Flash outshot the Dolphins 13-6, and goalkeeper Niclas Becker recorded a clean sheet with three saves.
Saint Francis opened the scoring early with Adams finding the back of the net in the first minute, followed by Mendes doubling the lead just before halftime.
De Nittis added a goal in the 73rd minute, and Schelb finished the scoring in the 85th minute.
Overall, Saint Francis maintained control throughout the match, showcasing a balanced attack and strong defensive effort.

Saint Francis returns home to Stokes Soccerplex on Thursday, Oct. 2, to face Mercyhurst University at 3 p.m.
The Red Flash will aim to build on their conference opener at Le Moyne as they look for their first home win of the 2025 season.
LAST TIME OUT
Saint Francis showed early promise but fell 4–2 to Bucknell on Tuesday.
The Red Flash surged ahead with a first-half own goal and Thero Mitchell’s first collegiate goal, assisted by Brennan Libo in his collegiate debut.
Bucknell responded just before halftime, cutting the deficit to 2–1, then took control in the second half with three unanswered goals, including a corner strike and a late tally in the 88th minute.
Freshman goalkeeper Diego Garciarena made several key saves to keep Saint Francis in the match, while Alex De Nittis nearly equalized late with his first shot on goal of the 2025 season.
NEC HONORS
Jonah Wolf was recognized as an NEC Prime Performer of the Week on Sept. 15.
Wolf turned in a standout performance in Saint Francis’ 3–3 draw at Loyola Maryland, recording his first career goal and adding an assist.
PRESEASON POLL
Saint Francis men’s soccer was picked fifth in the NEC Preseason Poll.
Mercyhurst, which won the NEC regular season, and LIU, which won the NEC Tournament, have been selected as co-preseason favorites after LIU earned three first-place votes and Mercyhurst garnered five.
FDU picked up the remaining two top votes, while Le Moyne, Saint Francis, Stonehill, New Haven, Howard, Chicago State, and CCSU rounded out the poll.
Mercyhurst and New Haven are both ineligible for the postseason.
INTERNATIONAL FLARE
Head coach Mads Kaiser has nine players that have come from outside the United States: Volkan Celikkol (Turkey), Alex De Nittis(Germany), Harry Elmore (England), Alejandro Escobar (Columbia), Diego Garciarena (Paraguay), Álvaro Planas(Spain), Julian Quiroga(Bolivia), Harvey Skurek (England), Mika Wernicke (Germany) and Jonah Wolf (Germany).
ABOUT THE COACH
Mads Kaiser begins his third season as the Red Flash men’s soccer head coach. In his first season, Saint Francis was the only NCAA Division I team to finish undefeated with a 7-0-8 record and won the NEC regular season.
Saint Francis is 14-7-10 overall and 10-2-3 in NEC play. The Red Flash hosted an NEC Semifinals Game in his first two years.
He was an assistant in Loretto for two seasons prior to his elevation as head coach.
