Metro Vancouver’s ever-popular Car Free Day street festivals have expanded this summer with epic celebrations across the region, and there’s plenty for everyone to check out.
The massive events are presented by TransLink, Interac Corp., local municipalities, and BIAs to promote the growth of car-free culture and spaces.
Each year, thousands of attendees enjoy entertainment, food vendors and community booths, kids’ activities, and more. Best of all, the events are free to check out.
“Since 2005, Car Free Days in Metro Vancouver have brought communities together to celebrate local culture, small businesses, and the spirit of community,” said TransLink CEO Kevin Quinn in a release.
“This summer, I encourage everyone to get out, explore your neighbourhoods, and enjoy the events by taking transit, walking, or cycling.”
Roads across the region will close for the street festivals, with live concerts and performances, the chance to win prizes from TransLink, food trucks, and more.
