DWCS 84 is upon us. Tuesday night, the final card of the September schedule of events in MMA takes place inside the UFC Apex facility. There won’t be too many more weeks where the show takes place on a Tuesday night.
After Tuesday’s event, there are only two more DWCS shows in this, its ninth season on the air. If you’re going to be watching this show in the United States of America, ESPN+ will, as always, be the destination for the show.
Internationally, DWCS 84 will be streamed via UFC Fight Pass. Coverage begins Tuesday night at 8 pm ET/ 5 pm PT from the Apex facility. As has been the case throughout the entirety of the season, five fights will be held on the show.

DWCS 84 Main Event: Vitor Costa vs. Damian Pinas
At the top of the bill this Tuesday night, the middleweights vie for a UFC contract when Vitor Costa (8-1 MMA) battles Damian Pinas (7-1 MMA.) All fights on Contender Series are three rounds at five minutes per round.
Costa enters DWCS 84 with a record of 5-0 in his last five fights and is currently on a six-fight winning streak dating back to 2022. This is the second time he’s been booked to appear on Contender Series this season.
Initially, he was due to fight on the Aug. 26 card against Ryan Gandra, but that fight was canceled after Costa encountered difficulties with obtaining a visa to compete in the United States. Gandra instead fought Trent Miller, winning by first-round knockout and obtaining a UFC contract.
As far as Vitor Costa is concerned heading into DWCS 84, he last fought a year ago, defeating Antonio Marco Guimaraes (4-4 MMA) by way of first-round knockout in Jungle Fight 130.
After a delay in his bid to secure a deal in the sport’s No. 1 promotion, can this former champion turn in a highlight-reel performance in DWCS 84? Only time will tell.
Across the way, Damian Pinas comes in with a 4-1 record over the last five fights. Like Costa, Pinas was supposed to have fought earlier this year on Contender Series, but his opening night contest against Murtaza Talha was called after he withdrew from the event.
He last fought on Dec. 13, 2024 in Shooto Brazil. That night, Pinas finished Wesley Silva (4-6 MMA) with a punch inside the opening round. This looks to be an interesting fight in the DWCS 84 main event with each contestant having come off of lengthy hiatuses. Who will emerge victorious here?
DWCS 84 Co-Main Event: Louis Jourdain vs. Magno Dias
Immediately prior, the co-main attraction of the evening sees action take place at bantamweight between Canada’s Louis Jourdain (8-3 MMA) and Brazil’s Magno Dias (6-1 MMA.) Jourdain will be making the walk on the strength of a 4-1 record in his past five MMA contests dating back to 2018.
Currently, he’s won three fights in a row inside the cage. On May 9, one night before the UFC set foot in Montreal for UFC 315, Jourdain scored a second-round knockout victory over Danilo Adreani (12-4, 1 NC MMA) in Samourai MMA Chapter 14 on UFC Fight Pass.
Cancelled fights have unfortunately become habitual for Louis Jourdain of late. Since the start of 2022, he’s had four fights postponed without a punch thrown. This is a man who’s been on UFC CEO Dana White’s radar for a while, though. as Jourdain was supposed to fight on a Unified MMA card where Dana White: Lookin’ For a Fight was taping footage for an episode in 2022.
Can Jourdain impress the boss at long last?
Meanwhile, Magno Dias heads to Enterprise with a 4-1 record of his own throughout his five latest contests. At the moment, he’s won two in succession.
This past April, he stopped Alessandro Albuquerque (7-2 MMA) inside the opening round in Future MMA 14. Dias will be looking to steal the momentum in the DWCS 84 co-main event, especially since Jourdain is on a hot streak going into this one.
DWCS 84: Eliezer Kubanza vs. Christopher Alvridez
Also on DWCS 84, you’ll be treated to a welterweight showcase between Eliezer Kubanza (7-0 MMA) and Christopher Alvridez (6-1 MMA.) Both fighters are coming in on sustained winning streaks.
Kubanza has yet to lose as a professional. On Dec. 13, 2024, the Brave CF alumnus bested Zagid Gaidarov (6-2 MMA) by unanimous decision after three rounds of action.
A planned contest on July 12 between Kubanza and Jack Grant was postponed prior to Brave CF 97. He’s already proven himself to be a strong contender in Brave, but can Kubanza get to the UFC?
In the other corner, Christopher Alvridez is on a 5-0 run in his five most-recent fights. In April, he secured a first-round knockout against Takashi Sato (16-9 MMA,) a UFC alumnus, inside the XFC Hexagon in Deerfield Beach, FL.
Alvridez’ resume is already looking impressive with the win over Sato, who has both UFC and Pancrase fights on his record. Will he knock Eliezer Kubanza from the ranks of the unbeaten?
Rest of the Card and Final Thoughts
Two other fights round out Tuesday evening’s excitement at DWCS 84, a featherweight affair between undefeated Kurtis Campbell (7-0 MMA) and 12-fight veteran Demba Seck (10-2 MMA,) and a flyweight contest pairing Rashid Vagabov (13-2 MMA) with Paulo da Silva (11-1 MMA.)
