Legendary performer Red Panda confirmed she’s aiming to return to her usual duties during the 2025-26 basketball season.
Pat Figley, the agent for Rong Niu, provided an update Sunday on Niu’s recovery from a wrist injury.
“We are sending out this note to thank everyone for their heartfelt wishes to Red Panda for a speedy recovery from her fall,” Figley said, per ESPN’s Myron Medcalf. “It was a very serious injury and she did require surgery. She appreciated all the sincere follow-up. It was amazing and very touching. She really appreciates all of the support. She is recovering well and is practicing. She is looking forward to performing this season.”
Red Panda has built a cult following over the years through her impressive feats of balance. Her signature act is riding a large unicycle while flipping bowls onto her head.
The veteran acrobat has been sidelined ever since fracturing her left wrist during the WNBA Commissioner’s Cup final in May.
Rest assured, Red Panda will be back on the hardwood before too long, though Figley didn’t specify when she might be back to 100 percent.
