Veteran wide receiver Stefon Diggs admitted he’s excited about the future with the New England Patriots and Drake Maye at quarterback.

The four-time Pro Bowler had high praise for Maye when speaking with media members after the Patriots’ 42-13 blowout victory over the Carolina Panthers on Sunday. There was plenty to be excited about for Diggs, who had a season-high six receptions for 101 yards.

It marked the 37th 100-plus receiving yard performance of his NFL career, and the first performance of that kind he’s had since joining the Patriots.

“He had a hell of a day. He’s a good quarterback,” Diggs said of Maye. “He’s starting to come along as you can see. He looks sharp out there. I’m just excited for the future.”

The growing rapport between Diggs and Maye can only mean good things later in the season, when the playoff race tightens and teams need to be at their best.
