Keith Waltz, a well-known and long-tenured motorsports writer, has passed away at the age of 65.

Waltz held numerous roles throughout his four decades of working in NASCAR. This has included stints as a writer, columnist, editor, and track communications.

For long-time fans of motorsports, they likely know Waltz from his time working for motorsports writer and broadcaster icon Chris Economaki at SPEED SPORT.

In recent years, Waltz has also served as a contributor and Editor for NASCAR Pole Position magazine. On the communications side of the sport, Waltz also worked at Charlotte Motor Speedway for a time.

Earlier this year, Waltz tied Ted Schmidt for the Jim Hunter Writer of the Year award at the 52nd Annual Eastern Motorsport Press Association.
