Carlos Alcaraz’s rhythm was disrupted in his last four meeting with Casper Ruud when he lost the opening set to the Norwegian. The World No.1 did manage to make amends for his straight-set loss to Ruud at last year’s ATP Finals.
The Spaniard clawed his way back to overcome Ruud 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 in two hours and eight minutes to make his 10th tour-level final of the season. Alcaraz is now 5-1 against the 26-year-old Ruud, also bringing up his 66th match win of the ongoing season and his 275th win on tour overall.
