ERIE, Colo. – The Gonzaga men’s golf team delivered a competitive performance at the Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational, finishing with a team total of 866 (+2). The Bulldogs placed 16th in the annual 54-hole event at the Colorado National Golf Club.
 
Jayden Lizama led the Bulldogs with a steady showing, finishing two-under (214) after consistent rounds of 70, 73, and 71. Lizama tied for 44th, with his first round featuring four birdies and 11 pars.
 
As a team, GU opened with a one-over (289) first round, before totaling a 286 (-2) in Round 2, and finishing with a 291 (+3) third round.
 
Guillermo Polo Bodart and Charlie Olson tied for 52nd and 59th. Polo Bodart was one-under (215), while Olson finished even-par (216). Michael Vienneau (+5, 221) and Ethan Flynn (+11, 227) were 73rd and 88th.
 
Daniel Kim competed as an individual in the Les Fowler Invitational. He was 29th at 11-over (227).
 
Gonzaga is at the Oregon State Invitational at Illahe Hills Country Club in Salem, Ore., Oct. 14-15. Live scoring will be available on GoZags.com.
