There was no stopping recently crowned world time trial champions Marlen Reusser and Remco Evenepoel as the pair doubled up at the European championships on Wednesday in France’s Rhone Valley.

Both struck TT gold in Rwanda at the UCI road worlds last month, and carried momentum back to France to sweep to the 2025 Euro TT titles against packed fields.

A few international names were missing from the Euro-only field, but Swiss rider Reusser and Belgian superstar Evenepoel were untouchable.

Reusser reclaimed her dominance against the clock with victory on the 24km course from Loriol-sur-Drôme to Étoile-sur-Rhône in 33:06.83. Her winning average speed of 43.486km/h distanced the rest of the field, with Norway’s Mie Bjørndal Ottestad snatching silver at 49 seconds back and Dutch rider Mischa Bredewold settling for bronze, at two seconds adrift.

In the men’s race, Evenepoel dominated on the same course used by the women, winning in 28:26.36, averaging a blistering 50.634km/h. Italy’s Filippo Ganna, who has long suffered under Evenepoel’s tyrannical rule against the clock, settled for silver at 43 seconds slower.

“I’m super happy to take another title. The wind was pretty strong, always on the head or a bit on the sides, so it was really difficult sometimes to control the bike and to take the corners properly, but I think I managed everything well,” Evenepoel said. “Now I will focus on recovering and then on having some good training before Sunday’s road race. It looks like it is a beautiful course and I’m really looking forward to it.”

Evenepoel now simultaneously holds the Olympic, world, European, and national individual time trial titles for elite men.

Denmark’s Niklas Larsen claimed bronze at 1:08 down, a third-tier Continental team rider who stunned the WorldTour pros.

Just off the podium, the British duo of Ethan Hayter and Joshua Tarling slotted into fourth and fifth, both just over a minute behind Evenepoel’s marker.

The European championships continue this week with juniors and U23 racing as well as mixed relay before the road races across the weekend.
