NASCAR driver Joey Logano jokingly claimed that he ‘woke up the neighbors’ after racing a go-kart around a makeshift road course at his home in North Carolina.
Logano will attempt to reach the Round of 8 of the NASCAR Playoffs on Sunday when racing at Charlotte Motor Speedway Road Course, but sits dangerously close to the cutline. Ryan Blaney and Chase Elliott are the only drivers guaranteed to progress, but Logano is in eighth spot, 13 points above the cutline.
The reigning NASCAR champion is a racing fanatic and has previously shared wholesome moments racing quad bikes and karts with his seven-year-old son, Hudson. On Saturday morning, Logano was getting some reps on the kart before heading to Charlotte for practice and qualifying.
Logano posted a video of himself zooming around a homemade road course. “Waking up the neighbors…,” he wrote as the caption, with the high-pitched engine noise bellowing through the woodland.
The NASCAR driver has a large estate in North Carolina, and frequently posts videos of vehicles driving around his property. Logano recently shared a video of Hudson racing a quad bike, captioning the post: “After school rip session with Hudson… Braap.”

Logano posted another video of him racing Hudson around the property shortly after, captioning the post: “Hot Laps w/ Hudson.” While Logano’s son has a perfect environment to follow in his father’s footsteps, the NASCAR star doesn’t want to push him into racing.
The seven-year-old enjoys racing with his father, but Logano sees it as nothing more than quality time. Until Logano is sure of what his son wants, he refuses to pressure him.
In an interview with Charlie Cavalier, Logano admitted that his son is a very talented driver. However, Logano believes guiding him into racing “could hurt him more than help him.”
DON’T MISS…
“I don’t know if he wants to [race], and I don’t really care,” Logano admitted. “He definitely shares the love of cars, which, we have that in common; love that.
“He’s very talented, but he just hasn’t shown, like, that ‘I really wanna race’ yet. He hasn’t really said it yet. So I don’t wanna push him, because it’s different for him than it was for me.
“He’s gonna immediately see way more pressure, and they introduce him as ‘NASCAR champion’s son,’ and it’s like—that’s not great. He’s no better than the next kid. He hasn’t done nothing.
“So, like, I don’t want him to believe that, for one, because I think it could hurt him more than help him. If he wants to ride a go-kart around the house, fine. If he wants to race, fine, we’ll go racing.”
