Oppo is extending its camera partnership with Hasselblad, with the next phone from this continued relationship set for a late 2025 reveal.

The two companies made their joint announcement at an event in Gothenburg, Sweden, the location of Hasselblad’s HQ. Both brands have previously partnered on several iterations of Oppo’s flagship Find series, beginning with the Find X5 series back in 2022. That launch marked the beginning of a three-year partnership, which will continue moving forward for at least an additional hardware cycle.

Pete Lau, Oppo’s Chief Product Officer and, of course, the founder of OnePlus, delivered the following statement as part of this week’s announcement:

“The partnership with Hasselblad is built on a shared passion for innovation and a commitment to delivering the ultimate imaging experience. Over the past four years, we have brought the truly professional, legendary camera experience of Hasselblad to OPPO’s global users. With the extension of our collaboration, we will push the boundaries of mobile imaging even further.”

This announcement also includes some details on what to expect later this year, with the brands co-developing a “next-generation mobile imaging system” for, presumably, Oppo’s next Find series. While we’re short on actual details aside from the promise of a “new standard” being set in mobile imaging, we’re set to hear more details — alongside a full reveal — later this year.

It’s an interesting move on Oppo’s part, considering what we’ve heard about the OnePlus 15. Despite its close partnership with parent company Oppo, OnePlus is rumored to be dropping Hasselblad from next year’s flagship, despite four generations worth of flagship smartphones featuring the latter company’s signature processing and color science. Considering just how magical the OnePlus 13’s camera can feel at times — especially compared to the flatter, HDR-focused output from companies like Samsung and Google — it’s a risky move. Thankfully, if you’re an Oppo fan, you can breathe a sigh of relief, as your preferred photo processing isn’t going anywhere.
