One person has sustained life-threatening injuries after being hit by a bus in Surrey on Saturday.

The Surrey Police Service (SPS) says officers were called to the scene near King George Boulevard and Highway 10 just after 5 a.m.

Upon arrival, officers found a pedestrian who had been hit by a TransLink bus.

The BC Emergency Health Services transported the pedestrian to the hospital.

Officers say the bus was out of service at the time of the collision.

The driver is cooperating with the investigation.

The SPS Collision Investigation Unit is now looking into what caused the incident.
