The World of Warcraft: Midnight closed alpha test kicked off this week, giving a limited number of players the chance to test out features from the new expansion. While Blizzard has not yet announced an official release date for the full expansion, a leak from a very reliable source points to an early 2026 release.

Billbil-kun, a renowned leaker writing for Dealabs, has made the claim that World of Warcraft: Midnight, the second expansion in the ongoing ‘Worldsoul Saga’, will launch on February 26th 2026. The report also includes some new details about the upcoming Collector’s Edition of the game.

The Midnight Collector’s Edition will cost around $150 and includes a game key, three days of early access, 30 days of WoW subscription time and a few other bits, like a replica of the Dark Hart, an exclusive pin and a hardcover artbook.

The closed alpha for Midnight began on October 2nd and will last several weeks while the developers gather data on what issues need to be prioritised. It is worth noting that Blizzard has not yet officially announced the release date, so if more time is needed to get the expansion ready, then a delay is still possible.
