An impaired driver has been arrested after a crash near Toronto’s waterfront left two people injured Sunday morning, Toronto police say.

In a post to social media, officials say officers were called to Lower Spadina Avenue and Queens Quay West at around 9:37 a.m. for reports of a pedestrian and a cyclist struck by a vehicle.

However, in an email to CP24, officials clarified that the cyclist was actually an e-scooter rider.

One victim was transported to a local trauma centre while another was assessed at the scene, paramedics told CP24.

Both victims have non-life-threatening injuries, police later said.

The driver was arrested at the scene for impaired driving.

As a result, officials say Lower Spadina Avenue is closed in both directions at Lake Shore Boulevard. The intersection of Lower Spadina and Queens Quay is also off limits as police investigate.

Drivers are advised to expect delays in the area and consider alternate routes.
