With the six pre-season games now behind them, the Canadiens put the final touches on the roster that will open the season. Five players were removed from the training camp roster to comply with the maximum of 23.
Owen Beck, Adam Engström, and Florian Xhekaj, all of whom are exempt from waivers, were reassigned to the Laval Rocket. Goaltender Kaapo Kähkönen and forward Sammy Blais were placed on waivers with the aim of sending them to the AHL if they clear.
There are two injured players who remain with the team but not on the active roster. David Reinbacher is expected to be out a few more weeks with a broken hand. William Trudeau tore a pectoral muscle during the Rocket’s playoff run and was unable to participate in training camp.
