The NFL is turning its attention toward Week 6, and a number of rookie quarterbacks are in the spotlight.
On Wednesday the New York Giants listed no injury designation for either Jaxson Dart or second-year running back Tyrone Tracy Jr., which means both are going to play Thursday night at home against the Philadelphia Eagles. Dart has been battling a hamstring injury and had his ups and downs over his first two starts for the Giants, but the rookie first-round pick hasn’t looked overwhelmed by the moment, which is a solid foundation.

Meanwhile in Cleveland, head coach Kevin Stefanski answered questions Wednesday in the aftermath of the Browns trading Joe Flacco to the Cincinnati Bengals. Specifically: Does this mean Shedeur Sanders is No. 2 on the depth chart behind Dillon Gabriel?

“Still working all roster-type things,” Stefanski said. “… Last week making the change to Dillon, you have to think long and hard about that. Because these are young players that you’re so invested in their development, so I’ll let the week play out and make a decision later on that.”
While Gabriel is the clear QB1 after his first career start last week, the Browns also have Bailey Zappe on their practice squad. Zappe has nine career starts, including one with the Browns last season, and the coaching staff might prefer that experience in the backup role for this week while they prepare Sanders to fill the role in the future.
