The Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra (2024) is a killer pick right now thanks to a major price dip after the launch of its refreshed 2025 replacement. The original has reached a can’t-miss 51% off, dropping it to AU$509 and beating the previous lowest price we’ve seen on Amazon.

For your hard-earned cash, you get a tank-tough shell, serious fitness chops, a battery that actually lasts and useful features like the programmable Quick Button.

In fact, it’s competing with Garmin as a bona fide outdoor watch with offline Google Maps, sleep coaching, Galaxy AI and more.

Note that while Amazon lists the original price at AU$1,035, it’s often sold for less than, that but only rarely drops under AU$900, making this a particularly good deal.

While this is Amazon’s second Prime Big Deal Days event in Australia this year and Black Friday is not far off, this is likely to be one of the best Watch Ultra deals as Samsung continues to run out remaining stock of the 2024 model. And heads up, this discount is for Prime members only.

The Galaxy Watch Ultra is Samsung’s answer to Apple’s Watch Ultra 2 – a rugged, titanium beast that holds its own even at a higher price. In our review, we loved the new programmable Quick Button, the AI-boosted sleep and recovery insights and the outdoors-ready build.

We also note that it’s a bit chunky and the battery can still frustrate on heavy usage days (we said “With always-on display and a couple of GPS workouts, it barely lasted into day three”), but it does last longer than a regular Galaxy Watch.

Overall, the specs are excellent: a 480 x 480 AMOLED screen, 32GB of storage, dual-frequency GPS, 10ATM plus IP68 rating, a 590mAh cell with up to 100 hours in low-power mode and a 47.4mm case that weighs 60.5g.

While iPhone isn’t supported, it works with most Android phones (Android 11 or newer with 2GB+ of RAM) – though be aware that ECG and blood pressure features require a Samsung Galaxy phone.

If you’d must have the latest and greatest (and are happy to pay for it) the 2025 refresh of the Watch Ultra is going for AU$1,038.

Our friends at Android Central have the full scoop on the differences in their explainer, but the 2025 model has the same core spec, though bumps up to 64GB of storage, adds a Titanium Blue colourway and it ships with One UI 8 Watch on Wear OS 6 with Gemini, plus new health tools like Antioxidant Index, Vascular Load and Running Coach.

We still think the 2024 model is the better pick when paired with this excellent discount, but either way, for Android users who want a tough companion with proper mapping and training tools, the Watch Ultra is hard to beat.
