With iRacing revealing that William Byron is the top-rated driver in “NASCAR 25,” fans have begun wondering about other Cup Series ratings. Now, some drivers have revealed their numbers through a guessing game.
NASCAR posted a video on Thursday featuring Ross Chastain, Austin Cindric, Ryan Blaney, Carson Hocevar, Chase Briscoe, and Noah Gragson. Each of these drivers took turns guessing a competitor’s identity based on their overall rating and their ratings on specific styles of tracks.
Some of these guesses took barely any time. Cindric knew that Ryan Blaney had a 97 overall rating before he even saw the numbers for superspeedways, road courses, intermediates, or short tracks.
“Big Ryan Blaney fan,” Cindric said. “Absolutely fair. He’s a stud.”
Others, however, took some effort. None of the assembled drivers figured out that Kyle Busch’s rating is 83 even after they saw his numbers for all of the track styles. Hocevar, in particular, didn’t believe that Busch should have a 92 rating on superspeedways.
The assembled drivers also disagreed with the ratings for AJ Allmendinger. None believed that the 80 overall served as an accurate number. Blaney thought Allmendinger should rank higher than a 74 on short tracks while Gragson said that the Kaulig Racing driver should be at least 93 on road courses instead of 83.
One area where Chastain did not disagree was his superspeedway rating of 80. He commented that he doesn’t usually finish these races. He also said that he and Kyle Larson end these events in the infield care center together.
NASCAR and iRacing have not revealed the full ratings for all of the Cup Series drivers in “NASCAR 25,” which releases on Oct.14. Here are the ones we know after watching the guessing game video:
