Naya Rivera (Santana)
Naya Rivera brought unforgettable energy and depth to the role of Santana Lopez, the razor-sharp cheerleader with biting one-liners and a hidden softness. What started as a supporting role quickly grew into one of Glee’s most layered and celebrated characters, particularly as Santana’s journey with her sexuality unfolded on-screen. Her relationship with Heather Morris’s Brittany became a beloved fan favorite and an important moment for LGBTQ+ representation on television. Naya’s powerhouse vocals and confident stage presence made her a standout in many of the show’s biggest musical numbers.
Off-screen, Naya was known for her strength, candor, and devotion to her family—especially her son, Josey. In July 2020, tragedy struck when Naya passed away in a heartbreaking drowning accident while on a boating trip with her 4-year-old son at Lake Piru in California.
After an extensive search, her body was recovered five days later. Authorities confirmed she had drowned after saving Josey by pushing him back onto the boat. She was just 33 years old. Her death deeply affected fans and former castmates, who remembered her as a fiercely talented and loving soul.

Robin Trocki (Jean)
Robin Trocki played Jean Sylvester, Sue Sylvester’s kind and gentle sister with Down syndrome. Her character brought out a softer, more vulnerable side of Sue, and their emotional scenes together became some of the most heartfelt moments on Glee.
Jean’s storyline served as a reminder of the importance of compassion and family. She passed away in December 2019 at the age of 63 following complications from Alzheimer’s disease.
