When Avani took a pregnancy test this week, only her close friend Barney Mitchell (Lewis Bridgeman) knew that she was carrying Joel Marshall’s (Max Murray) baby.
Suki caught Avani looking at a family planning website, leading Avani to tell her the truth.
But as Avani announced that she was going to have a termination, Suki was horrified.
Although Suki urged Avani to stop and think about her options, Avani was adamant that she didn’t want to continue her pregnancy.
Meanwhile, Suki sulked when she and the rest of the clan saw her son Vinny (Shiv Jalota) off as he departed for sister Ash’s (Gurlaine Kaur Garcha) engagement party in Canada.

Oblivious to Avani’s situation, Suki’s wife Eve (Heather Peace) urged her to step up and stop being so pig-headed, while Barney advised Avani to spend a little more time thinking things over.
We then saw Suki confide in the Granthi about Avani, admitting that she feared history repeating itself after Ash’s termination several years earlier.

The Granthi suggested that Suki’s support for Avani should be unconditional, but Suki’s mind was whirring when Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) commented that motherhood had been the making of her granddaughter Lily (Lillia Turner).
Back at the house, Suki apologised to Eve for her behaviour, and spoke of Vinny’s recent remarks about her parenting.
Eve assured Suki that she had always tried her best, and once alone, Suki called Avani.
When Avani arrived, Suki insisted she couldn’t stand by her choice, before dropping a bombshell: Suki wanted to raise Avani’s baby as her own!
How will Avani respond? And how will Eve react to Suki making this major decision without her?
