Where good news shines
Another Oredigger is going pro.
Colorado School of Mines’ record-setting wide receiver Max McLeod signed with the Canadian Football League’s Winnipeg Blue Bombers, the school said. McLeod is the program’s all-team leader in catches and receiving yards and was an All-American pick the past three seasons.
McLeod will join Winnipeg’s practice squad. The Blue Bombers are 3-2 and hunting a playoff spot.
Mines players are all around the CFL. Quarterbacks Isaac Harker (Saskatchewan and the BC Lions) and John Matocha (Toronto) and cornerback Mason Pierce (Toronto) are in the league. McLeod previously earned an invitation to the Denver Broncos’ rookie camp in May.
