HONOLULU—The University of Hawai’i men’s tennis team won four of its seven doubles matches on Day 2 of the Mānoa Fall Classic on Saturday morning at the UH Tennis Complex. Hawai’i, Hawai’i Pacific and UC San Diego competed in two rounds of doubles only on Day 2.
 
In Round 1, Hawai’i’s Ziwen Ju and Hikaru Takahashi joined forces and pulled away from Hawai’i Pacific’s Jon William Karlstad and Caleb Tobbler, 6-2. UH’s Kent Mueller and Timothy Li knocked off UC San Diego’s Yaron Guberman/Prathinav Chunduru, 6-3; and UH’s Adriano Dzhenev and Toa Maeda doubled up on the Tritons’David Adamson and Abhinav Chunduru, 6-3.
 
In Round 2, the lone Rainbow Warrior duo to notch a win was Muller and Nakanishi who held off HPU’s Arthur Pery and Matteo Perrod by a break, 6-4. Both of UH’s last two pairs fell 7-5. The ‘Bows’ Takahashi and Ju fell to HPU’s Mile Matic and Ethan Terry, while Toa, while Maeda and Dzhenev dropped their match to UCSD’s Andrew Becceiro and Trevor Nguyen.
 
The Mānoa Fall Classic will conclude on Sunday, Oct. 12. The three teams will play a round of singles and a round of doubles on the final day of the tourney.
