It sounds like TNA Wrestling could be losing one of its top acts if they don’t come to terms on a new deal.
This weekend at TNA Bound For Glory, The Hardys, who currently hold four sets of Tag Team Titles across four different promotions, will put the TNA and WWE NXT Tag Team Titles on the line against Team 3D in a tables match. And it sounds like if a deal isn’t reached sooner rather than later could be one of Matt and Jeff’s final matches with the company for the time being.
According to Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp (via Fightful Select), The Hardys signed a one-year deal with TNA last November. Unless an extension was quietly reached between the two sides, their deals with the company are just about up. Obviously, TNA management is hopeful to retain the legendary tag team.
A lot of TNA contracts are set to expire this year
This seems to be a growing problem within TNA Wrestling at the moment. As sources have told Sapp that “no less than a dozen” contracts are set to expire by the end of the year. This situation probably couldn’t be coming at a worse time. Since the company is deep in negotiations to secure a new television deal for iMPACT.
Other names that are set to expire soon are current Knockouts Tag Team Champions The IInspiration and Cedric Alexander. There have also been rumblings that Mike Santana’s deal could be up sooner rather than later.
Stay tuned to WrestleZone for more information as it becomes available.
