Charles Leclerc is being linked with half the teams on the Formula 1 grid as he considers his future at Ferrari.

The Maranello outfit are in turmoil on and off the track. Currently winless in 2025 and with several departments at Ferrari having strained relationships, star driver Leclerc is beginning to lose patience.

The Monegasque driver has scored all five of the team’s podiums this season and took a shock pole position in Budapest. However, he has not been able to extract the maximum from the SF-25, with Ferrari ignoring Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton’s wishes in terms of aerodynamic upgrades.

With 2025 all but over for Ferrari, they will now have their attention fully focused on the 2026 F1 regulations. However, Leclerc’s frustrations could continue next season, as engineers are expected to request lifting and coasting more frequently.

Leclerc is contracted until 2029 at Ferrari, giving him the most security on the grid. But the 27-year-old is now believed to be considering his options as he plots a huge move on the Formula 1 driver market.

‘Serious’ meetings have taken place at Ferrari as they look to address their problems. They will certainly want to do everything they can to keep Leclerc in Maranello, as he becomes more despondent with the team’s operation.

Reports have already stated that Leclerc’s camp have spoken to Mercedes as he plots a potential move in 2027. Discussions have also taken place with Aston Martin, while Red Bull are another team linked with the Monegasque driver.

Cadillac already have their first F1 drivers lined up for the long term, with Sergio Perez and Valtteri Bottas signing multi-year contracts. However, chief advisor Mario Andretti would not pass on the opportunity to sign Leclerc if he became available.

Speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Andretti assessed the current state of F1, including the title fight between the McLarens: “Verstappen is very strong. I like Piastri for his grit, but it seems to me that at McLaren, for some reason—I don’t know why—they favour Lando Norris.

“I’m a big fan of Leclerc; if he really wanted to change teams one day, I’d take him to Cadillac straight away. Ferrari is Ferrari, and sooner or later it will come back. Always.”

F1 fans think Leclerc will leave Ferrari and move elsewhere in 2027. They are not convinced that the Maranello outfit can build a title-winning car, as they have failed to do since he joined the team in 2019.

The 27-year-old is not shy of potential suitors for 2027, with Mercedes, Aston Martin and Red Bull all expressing interest. Audi are also plotting to sign a top driver, with Leclerc being an option for the German manufacturer.

Leclerc could swap places with Oscar Piastri and head to McLaren in 2027. The Aussie could look to move on if tensions with Lando Norris continue in their title fight in 2025.

As for Cadillac, Perez and Bottas may not have long futures in F1 beyond 2026, being 35 and 36 years old respectively. An opening could be there for Leclerc, but whether he would join the American brand is another question.
