The NASCAR Cup Series heads to the business end of the playoffs, with the Round of 8 beginning on Oct. 12 with the South Point 400 at Las Vegas.

Eight drivers advanced to the next-to-last round of the playoffs following last week’s race at the Charlotte Roval.

A win at Las Vegas (or Talladega or Martinsville) locks a playoff driver into the Championship 4 at the finale in Phoenix next month.

Denny Hamlin is on the pole, but all eyes are on the Penske playoff drivers (Joey Logano and Ryan Blaney); Penske-affiliated cars have won the last two Vegas races.
