Chopper 24 is on the scene of a natural gas explosion at a North York construction site, which left several people injured.
Seven people have been taken to hospital after a natural gas fire broke out at an under construction building in North York on Tuesday morning following a reported explosion.
Crews were first dispatched to the building on Esther Shiner Boulevard at McMahon Drive, which is in the vicinity of Leslie Street and Sheppard Avenue, at around 9:20 a.m.
Toronto Fire Services told CTV News fire occurred in a that the mechanical room on the 22nd floor. Fire officials say that evidence of ignition was located at the scene, though the cause of the fire remains unclear.
Seven people have been taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Toronto police confirm.

More than a dozen vehicles have been dispatched to the scene by Toronto Fire Services.
The building was evacuated and Esther Shiner Boulevard’s westbound lane is closed at Provost Drive.
The Ministry of Labour has been notified.
