Justin Haley’s tenure with Spire Motorsports will officially come to a close following the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series finale at Phoenix Raceway, ending a partnership that began during the team’s inaugural season in 2019. The departure marks the end of a significant chapter for both the driver and the organization.

Haley, 26, first joined Spire Motorsports as a young up-and-comer and quickly made headlines by delivering the team its first and only NASCAR Cup Series victory. That win came in just his second career Cup start, during a rain-shortened race at Daytona International Speedway in July 2019. The unexpected triumph not only etched Haley’s name into the record books but also gave Spire a landmark moment in its early history.

Over the course of his time with Spire, Haley made 74 starts in the Cup Series for the team, contributing one win, six top-five finishes, and 18 top-10s. His performance helped establish Spire as a competitive presence in the garage, even as the team continued to grow and evolve.

Haley’s career path took him away from Spire after the 2021 season, during which he spent two years with Kaulig Racing and a stint with Rick Ware Racing. He returned to Spire late in 2024 in a driver swap with Corey LaJoie, taking over the No. 7 Chevrolet full-time for the 2025 season.

Despite high hopes and a promising start to the year with championship-winning crew chief Rodney Childers, the pairing lasted only nine races. The team later reassigned competition director Ryan Sparks to Haley’s pit box. The 2025 season has been a challenging one, with Haley currently ranked 31st in the standings, having earned just one top-five and two top-10 finishes.

Haley’s departure leaves a vacancy in the No. 7 car for 2026, with Spire yet to announce a replacement. Speculation around the garage includes several potential candidates, but no official decision has been made.

As Haley prepares for the next phase of his career, his legacy at Spire remains defined by his historic Daytona win and his role in helping shape the team’s identity in NASCAR’s top series. Both driver and team now look ahead to new opportunities as the 2025 season winds down.
