LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — A local family-owned jewelry store was burglarized early Sunday morning, just hours before the NASCAR Cup Series South Point 400 race.
Surveillance footage captured the suspect wearing a Kyle Busch NASCAR hoodie and using a sledgehammer to break through the store’s window after an unsuccessful attempt to breach the front door.
The store owners reported that the suspect stole approximately $7,000 to $10,000 worth of jewelry and caused thousands of dollars in property damage.
The owners expressed concern about the possibility of the suspect returning during the day when the store’s inventory is fully displayed.
Authorities urge anyone with information or who recognizes the suspect to contact police or Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
