DESTIN, Fla. – The Gustavus Adolphus College women’s golf team competed in the three-round Golfweek Invitational this week. The Gusties stood in 12th place after day one with a round of +31, moved to 15th after shooting +28 in round two, and finished the invite at 13th out of the field of 24 teams after shooting +22 in the final round on Tuesday to set their three-day score at +81.
 
“They put in maximum effort today and it showed in their shots and scoring,” said Gustavus assistant coach Randall Stuckey. “Playing the course for the third time significantly helped our course management and club selections, which helped us play a steady round.”
 
Riley Zebroski led the Gusties at the invite, shooting +13 through the three-day competition to tie for 24th out of the field of 120 golfers. Addison Longie followed two strokes back at +15 to tie for 31st overall. Lauren Hubbart and Teckla Wahlstrand both shot +28, tying for 58th overall. Emily Kolb shot +31, tying for 71st overall.
 
“Each day our score improved and moved up two spots,” said Stuckey. “Riley put together a fantastic round of two over for a 74. This group played with confidence and represented the Gustavus golf program extremely well. It has been a very busy fall tournament schedule and they brought energy all fall.”
 
Gustavus golf will next compete in the spring. The Gusties will continue to practice at their Drenttel Golf Facility on campus over the winter prepare for the spring season.
 
“It sure was fun to travel with both the men and the women this weekend,” said Gustavus head coach Scott Moe. “We have such a great culture within our golf program. It is so fun to see them interact with each other and pull for each other the way they do. Proud to coach this group of men and women.”
