It’s time for the quarterfinals at WTA Ningbo. Hello, all. Kane Webb here back on a new schedule. Moving forward from this point, there will be a massive change in how I do things going forward. As promised, there will be more options available to bettors, with more prop bets being introduced on days when lines are atrocious for straight up. I will also be employing new methods of choosing winners, and I hope this leads to a more positive experience for everyone. With that said, please leave your thoughts in the comments.

WTA Ningbo
Yastremska – Rybakina: Time 13:00

H2H: 0-2

Dayana Yastremska versus Elena Rybakina is our featured match, and for good reason. Rybakina won both of their previous matches, and they both took place this year. Rybakina first beat Yastremska in the third round at the Australian Open. She then beat her in three sets at WTA Montreal in the round of 16. Yastremska is not in a good place right now. She just broke a four-match losing streak against Victoria Mboko in the first round here at Ningbo, an accomplishment to be sure, but it comes on the heels of an awful losing streak. Rybakina is 7-3 in her last ten matches, and all of her losses came to Top 50 players.

Best Bet to Make

Rybakina is a monster favorite, and picking her straight-up is going to be a waste of your time. 1xBet is offering Rybakina 2:0 at 1.54, but I think betting on total games is more worthwhile. Whether you want the over or the under on 20.5 games total, you can cash out at a higher clip than taking the correct score. I personally favor the over, since both of their matches have been fairly competitive. One match went 19 games, the other match went 32 games. I would take over 20.5 games at 2.05 as it presents the most reasonable option at the highest possible value.

That being said, Over 20.5 games is a value bet for sure.

Alexandrova – Yuan: Time 10:30

H2H: 1-1

Ekaterina Alexandrova vs Yue Yuan rounds out our quarterfinal coverage. Yuan has had a rough year. She’s 19-25 overall and is 11-16 on a hardcourt. By contrast, Alexandrova is 43-22 overall and 18-14 on a hardcourt. Both players have one tournament title in 2025, but Alexandrova’s came at the WTA level while Yuan’s won an ITF tournament. While Alexandrova hasn’t won many tournaments, she’s had a fairly remarkable year in terms of overall consistency. Of the 23 tournaments she’s played, only seven of them have had her winning fewer than two games. She seems to play consistently well.

Best Bet to Make

The books also reflect Alexandrova’s consistency. While Yuan may have won their Olympic match, Alexandrova got her win back in the quarterfinals of the WTA Monterrey on her way to the semifinals. Alexandrova is 6-4 in her last ten, and Yuan is 4-6 in hers. I think this is another match where prop bets are going to be the best path forward. I would personally take the over on 20.5 games at 1.91 on Bet365. These two almost always seem to play in bangers, and they’re both capable of applying pressure when on serve. This game is going to come down to who can hold serve and who can secure break points. I favor Alexandrova, but not enough to pick her outright.

That being said, Over 20.5 games is a value bet for sure.
