CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – On the heels of its best finish of the 2025 season, Harvard women’s golf is set to return to action this weekend at the Lady Blue Hen Invitational. The Crimson wrapped up play at the Quinnipiac Invitational earlier this week, posting a third-place team finish while sophomore Vanessa Zhang claimed Medalist honors with an impressive six-shot victory. Notes & Storylines
The Crimson is looking to finish the fall season strong at the Lady Blue Hen Invitational and head into the Winter break with some momentum leading into the Spring.
Harvard has had success at the Lady Blue Hen Invitational historically, claiming three tournament titles in only seven trips to play in the tournament. The last tournament win came two seasons ago in 2023 with the other two coming in 2015 and 2016.
Vanessa Zhang competed as an individual at the tournament last season, coming in T3 in the field with rounds of 74, 70 and 69 to post a tournament score of 213 (-3).
Senior captain Iris Wang and Junior Bonnie Zhai have both seen success at RBCC, coming in T9 and T26 at the 2023 tournament, respectively. Wang’s top-10 finish was powered by a run of 74-76-71 for a score of 221 (+5).
Vanessa Zhang moved into the team lead in scoring average after this past tournament with a clip of 72.3 through eight rounds played. Lucy Yuan (73.3) and Iris Wang (76.5) round out the Crimson’s top three in the category.
Yuan and Zhang are currently tied for the team lead in birdies on the year with 23 each. Bonnie Zhai (19) and Iris Wang (15) are close behind the sophomore duo in the metric.

The Lady Blue Hen Invitational will conclude the Crimson’s Fall season as the team will now look ahead to the Spring season that will include the 2026 Ivy League Championship Tournament in mid-April. Stay tuned for Harvard’s 2026 Spring schedule release in the coming weeks.
