The Milwaukee Brewers and Los Angeles Dodgers faced off in the 2025 National League Championship Series, which began in Milwaukee since the Brewers held home-field advantage as the higher seed.

Game 2 took place on Tuesday, October 14. Milwaukee struck first with a solo home run from Jackson Chourio, but Los Angeles responded with five unanswered runs. The game is now being viewed in a different light after a viral video captured a heated fan interaction.

Dodgers fan Ricardo Fosado was surrounded by Brewers fans at the game. He had been in Chicago on a work trip and drove up to Milwaukee to support his team. As the Dodgers mounted their comeback, Fosado celebrated and playfully asked nearby fans why they had gone quiet. One Brewers fan, Shannon Kobylaczyk, fired back by mocking his drink of choice. When Fosado replied, Kobylaczyk tapped the shoulder of the fan in front of her and said, “Maybe we should call ICE.”

The exchange escalated into an argument, and Kobylaczyk ultimately got Fosado kicked out of the game. But the fallout from the incident didn’t end there.

Why did Brewers fan threaten to call ICE?

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has been a hot topic in the United States. ICE’s mission, per the official website, is to “protect America through criminal investigations and enforcing immigration laws to preserve national security and public safety.” Lately, ICE has been charged by President Donald Trump with finding illegal immigrants in the United States and arresting them to remove them from the country.

With Fosado, Kobylaczyk was essentially implying they should call ICE on him since he is of Mexican descent. Fosado is not only an American citizen, but also served in the U.S. Navy, serving in both Afghanistan and Iraq after signing up for the military following the 9/11 attacks, per the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel
