Police say there was a fatal stabbing in an alleyway near the Eglinton and Danforth area around 4 p.m. Two suspects have been taken into custody.
A man in his 50s is dead after a stabbing in Scarborough on Thursday afternoon.
Emergency crews were initially called to Eglinton Avenue East and Danforth Road around 4:15 p.m. for an unknown trouble.
“When they showed up on scene, they couldn’t find a complainant or any evidence, so they continued their investigation,” Insp. Scott Bradbury told reporters at the scene.
Eventually, Bradbury said, their investigation led them to a nearby apartment in the area of Eglinton Avenue East and Falmouth Avenue.
Officers entered a unit and found a man suffering serious injuries, he said.

Police said two people were arrested at the scene.
The circumstances that led to the stabbing are not immediately clear. It is unknown if the victim knew the suspects.
“Officers are currently on scene speaking with witnesses to try and get a better understanding of what had happened this evening,” Bradbury said.
“I want the community to know that we are providing all the resources we can, and in the immediate area, you’ll notice an increased presence of police for the next several hours.”
