ROME, Ga. — University of Chicago women’s tennis senior Sarena Biria picked up her first win in the ITA Cup on Friday with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Ginevra Muratori from Skidmore.
Biria jumped out to a big lead early with several breaks of serve to roll to a 6-1 victory in the opening set.
In the second set, the Kansas City native continued to roll with two more breaks of serve to pick up a 6-2 win in the final set to bring home the straight-set victory.
Biria will return to the court on Saturday morning at 9 AM ET for her final match of the weekend against Karina Elvestrom from Gustavus Adolphus.
