Tampa Bay Lightning forward Nikita Kucherov was not in the lineup when his team took on the Detroit Red Wings on Friday due to an illness.
Kucherov, 32, last appeared during Tuesday’s 3-2 overtime loss to the Washington Capitals, where he recorded an assist on 21:05 of ice time.
The 6-foot winger won the Art Ross Trophy and Ted Lindsay Award last season after recording 37 goals and 121 points in 78 games. He was also third in Hart Trophy voting.
Kucherov has two goals and three points through four games this season.
Tampa Bay has gone 1-2-1 to begin the season and will take on the Columbus Blue Jackets on the road on Saturday night.
