Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation is hosting the Gilligan’s Island Gala on Saturday.
The event is taking place at Batawa Community Centre in support of the Emerge Stronger campaign to expand the emergency room at Trenton Memorial Hospital.
“Over the last three years, we’ve seen a 25% increase in volumes through the emergency department, which is astronomical,” said Makayla Mior, development coordinator for Trenton Memorial Hospital. “It’s really, really important to be able to have the facility to be able to keep up with that increase in patients.”
The event’s main sponsor is Scotiabank, with various other community groups pitching in as well.
The night’s festivities are themed around the Gilligan’s Island television show, with guests encouraged to come dressed for a tropical cruise.
