Last Time Out
Lindenwood earned its second straight victory on Thursday with a 1-0 win over Eastern Illinois at Hunter Stadium handing the Panthers their first conference loss of the season. After controlling possession for much of the match, the Lions broke through in the 84th minute when Anna Johnson netted her team-leading fourth goal of the season off an assist from Mackenzie Compton. The Lindenwood defense was dominant once again, limiting the Panthers to just two shots on goal and posting its ninth clean sheet of the year.

Notes to Know
OFFENSE: Lindenwood continues to generate consistent attacking pressure, leading the OVC with 224 total shots this season. The Lions have found the back of the net 16 times through 15 matches, ranking fifth in the conference in goals scored. Their ability to create sustained opportunities in the final third has been a key factor in the team’s recent unbeaten run.

PIECE BY PIECE: Set pieces continue to play a major role in Lindenwood’s attack. More than half of the Lions’ goals this season have come from dead-ball situations, including a conference-leading four penalty kicks and three goals from corner kicks. Lindenwood also ranks second in the OVC with 87 total corners, consistently turning restarts into quality scoring opportunities.

SPREADING THE WEALTH: Lindenwood’s attack continues to find contributions from across the roster, with four players scoring multiple goals this season. Anna Johnson now leads the team with four goals, while Allison Schrumpf has added three. Mackenzie Compton and Tasneem Dizdarevic have each scored twice, highlighting the Lions’ balanced and versatile offense.

LEADERS: Johnson leads the Lions with 10 points on four goals and two assists, while Compton and Schrumpf both have seven points each. Compton has contributed two goals and three assists, and Schrumpf has added three goals and one assist. In goal, Caroline Ritter continues to anchor the defense, ranking third in the OVC in save percentage (.818) and now has the most shutouts in the conference with nine through 15 games.

DEFENSE: Lindenwood’s back line continues to be one of the most reliable in the OVC, conceding just 14 goals through 15 matches, tied for the second fewest in the conference. The Lions have recorded three consecutive shutouts, with Ritter anchoring the defense and providing stability in goal as the team continues its late-season push.

WINNING THE WHISTLE: Lindenwood continues to play with discipline and composure, drawing 176 fouls while conceding just 104 on the season. That advantage has contributed to the Lions’ strong set-piece production and ability to control the flow of play in competitive OVC matches.

OVC AT A GLANCE: Lindenwood sits fourth in the OVC standings with 13 points (4-2-1), just behind Eastern Illinois, Little Rock, and Tennessee Tech. The Lions have positioned themselves firmly in the postseason picture with two matches remaining in the regular season. Southern Indiana currently holds 12 points, setting up an important matchup that could play a key role in determining conference tournament positioning.
