Toronto police have released new details about a vehicle that was allegedly involved in a hit-and-run in North York earlier this month that seriously injured a teenage e-bike rider.
The crash happened on Oct. 15 near Bayview and Heathcote avenues, north of York Mills Road.
Toronto police said they were called to that area just before 11 p.m. for reports of a personal injury collision.
They say the driver of a motor vehicle was travelling southbound on Bayview, making a left hand turn to eastbound onto Heathcote.
At the same time, a 15-year-old was operating an e-bike northbound on Bayview at Heathcote Avenue
Investigators say the motorist collided with the e-bike, then fled the scene.
The teen was taken to the hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening, injuries.
The vehicle involved in this collision is described as a 2013 to 2015 dark gray Toyota Rav 4 with a is missing driver side mirror cap and driver’s side chrome window moulding.
Police previously described it as a dark coloured SUV, adding that this vehicle may be associated to the area.
This investigation is ongoing by the Traffic Services Unit.
