Canadian country music icon Shania Twain and the Stampeders gave fans at McMahon Stadium more than enough “prerogative to have a little fun” on Saturday night!
Twain got the party started as she took Quick 6 for a ride during the pre-game warmups and the Stamps did the rest.
Calgary’s offence was rolling in their regular-season home finale en route to their second-straight win with a 44-13 victory over the Toronto Argonauts. QB Vernon Adams Jr. reached the 20,000 passing yard mark to become the 39th player overall in league history to achieve the feat.
Calgary improves to 10-7 and are tied with the BC Lions for second place in the CFL West Division heading into the final week of regular season action.
The win ensures the Stampeders will not crossover to the East Division and will play against the Lions or Bombers in the Western-Semi Final.

The Stampeders got off to a quick start thanks to Adrian Greene making a huge pick-six off a pass attempt from Argos pivot Jarrett Doege. Greene took it 64-yards to the house for a 7-0 lead early in the first quarter. It was the Toronto native’s second pick-six against his hometown team this season, the first coming in Week 2 at BMO Field.

The Argos offence had momentum until a Charles Wiley sack sent their offence of the field and forced Argos kicker Liriam Harjullahu to boot a 56-yard field-goal to cut the score to 7-3.
Later in the quarter the Stampeders offence began to hum after a 31-yard completion to Dedrick Mills. A couple plays later Adams connected with Dominique Rhymes for a 55-yard touchdown to put the Red & White up 14-3 with 4:30 remaining in the 1st quarter. With that TD throw Adams Jr. surpassed 20,000+ CFL passing yards!

Toronto’s offence gained some traction towards the end of the first quarter, but the Argos opted for another Harjullahu field-goal to cut the lead to 14-6.
The Stamps were rolling in their first drive of the second quarter with an eight-play, 91-yard drive that concluded with a three-yard touchdown pass to Tevin Jones to extend the lead to 21-6.

The Argos offence tried to answer with a march of their own, but a couple of intentional grounding calls on Doege forced them to kick a field-goal to shorten the Stamps lead to 21-7.
The following drive the Red and White got up the field quickly into Argos territory thanks to a couple nice passes from Adams and a rush from Mills. To cap it off, Adams found Jalen Philpot in the endzone for a 7-yard touchdown to extend the lead to 28-7 at half.

On Toronto’s next offensive drive, pivot Tucker Horn came in for Doege to spark some offence. The Stampeders were able to take advantage as Godfrey Onyeka intercepted a pass from Horn for 14-yards to put the Red and White right back on offence. The following drive, kicker Rene Paredes nailed a 49-yard field-goal to stretch the lead to 38-7 heading into the final frame.
The Stampeders swapped out Adams with backup quarterback Josh Love at the start of the fourth quarter and Paredes managed to kick a couple field-goals in the frame. There was no coming back for the Double Blue as Calgary closed out the game 44-13.
