LeBron James made his NBA debut on October 29, 2003.

Since then, 83 players on current NBA rosters have been born.

This stat comes from Keerthika Uthayakumar, and it really drives home how long LeBron has been in the league.

Read it again: Nearly 100 players on current rosters were born after LeBron played his first NBA minutes.

James is 40 years old and will turn 41 at the end of December.

Players who were born after he entered the league would be, at most, 21 right now.

Wondering who the first player born after LeBron debuted was? Us too.

The answer: Brice Sensabaugh.

The Utah Jazz sharpshooter was born on Oct. 30, 2003, one day after LeBron debuted in the NBA.

There’s one player who was born on James’ birthday itself, December 30, after LeBron debuted. That’s Memphis Grizzlies 2024 second-round pick Ulrich Chomche, who was born on Dec. 30, 2005.

The youngest player in the NBA currently is Cooper Flagg. He was born on Dec. 21, 2006, more than three years after LeBron debuted, and just nine days before James turned 22 years old.

It’d be interesting to see how much James could grow this number by in a year, if he returned to play in 2026-27. It seems like it’d approach 100 players born after his debut if he stuck around that long.

But even if this is it for LeBron, it’s a remarkable way to capture his longevity.
