Alanis Morissette, 90s icon and actress who played God in Dogma, kicked off her 8 show run at The Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas over the weekend and proved her voice has only gotten better with age. The 51-year-old Canadian singer hadn’t toured since wrapping up 2023’s 25th anniversary tour for Jagged Little Pill.
After Alanis took the stage in Las Vegas, clips began to hit social media and it has been interesting to see which songs resonated the most online with fans and which clips have gone most viral.

Something often seen in the music industry is when a singer has a distinct voice they tend to see less longevity than their peers with clear but standard vocals. Vocal nodules are often the culprit, which can happen to any singer, but there’s something about the unique singers where we tend to see shorter careers… Not with Alanis Morissette.
She announced 8 tour dates at The Colosseum in Las Vegas at Caesar’s Palace (October 15, 17 18, 22, 24, 25, and November 1 and 2). She kicked it off last Wednesday and the word on the streets was immediately ‘the 90s are back.’
I originally came across this TikTok video that has racked up 1.5 million views. Then I saw a YouTube video from an even closer vantage point. My plan was to just share the TikTok video but it would be a dereliction of duty not to share both, right? So here is that clip with 1.5M views that’s gone viral:
It had been a hot minute since I last listened to this song from Alanis Morissette until Brandi Carlile recently covered it at Red Rocks. That performance went viral and videos were everywhere across social media, and it never occurred to me last month that Alanis would be back on stage in October. I somehow missed the tour announcement. Here is that YouTube version though:
History of the Song
Uninvited was the first recording from Alanis Morissette after her debut Jagged Little Pill. It first appeared in the 1998 film City of Angels and on the soundtrack.
Alanis was already a mega star at this point but this song cemented her place in the industry. Uninvited went on to win two Grammy Awards for Best Female Rock Vocal Performance and Best Rock Song.
It is wild that at 51 years old, Alanis’ voice sounds better than ever. That so rarely happens. And you love to see it.
