CDPQ Infra says it will be ready to open the Deux-Montagnes branch of the REM on Nov. 17, if all goes to plan between now and then.
The launch will mean that 14 new stations will come into service from downtown Montreal to the suburb just northwest of Laval, Que. Currently, the REM runs from Brossard, on the South Shore, to Montreal’s Gare Centrale station.
Service at the Deux-Montagnes station will begin at 5:30 a.m. The REM will operate on an adjusted evening schedule to start, meaning the last departure from Brossard to Deux-Montagnes will be at 8:30 p.m.
Service will continue after these hours only between Brossard and the Côte-de-Liesse station, in Montreal’s Saint-Laurent borough, until 1:30 a.m. on weekdays.
CDPQ Infra says the adjusted evening schedule will allow its teams to continue running tests on the Anse-Ã -l’Orme line that stretches into the West Island, ending at Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue. That branch is expected to open in spring 2026.

CDPQ Infra had previously announced that service on both the Deux-Montagnes and Anse-Ã -l’Orme branches would begin in October 2025. It shut down the entire network to run tests for six weeks during the summer.
Construction on the REM network first began in 2018. The South Shore branch of the REM began operating in July 2023. There is also a link to the Montreal airport which is expected to open in 2027.
