Greek authorities recently presented architectural plans for a new multipurpose pavilion to be built at the archaeological site of Epidaurus, aimed at supporting events for the Athens-Epidaurus Festival.
Designed by architectural firm Flux-Office, the semi-permanent structure will feature a central hall and auxiliary spaces, surrounded by wooden slats to allow airflow and blend with the natural environment.
The project, developed in consultation with the local archaeological authority, is designed to minimize environmental impact. Located near listed buildings by late modernist architect Aris Konstantinidis, the pavilion will complement existing facilities used for exhibitions and cultural events.
Construction is expected to be completed within eight months, with an estimated budget of €890,000, fully funded by Greece’s Public Power Corporation.
