A child who was subject to an Amber Alert has been found safe, but the suspect remains outstanding and has been allegedly connected to the fatal shooting of woman in Brampton.
An Amber Alert was issued just before 5 p.m. for a missing one-year-old girl from Brampton, but she has since been located. It’s believed the child was dropped off with family members.
Residents in Fort Erie have been asked to shelter in place as the suspect is believed to be in the area of Prospect Point and Ridgeway road.
Niagara police say to local all windows and doors and do not open doors for any unknown people.
The suspect is 38-year-old Anthony Deschepper and the suspect vehicle is described as a 2024 black Nissan Kick with a Quebec licence plate FRV4520.
Anthony is described as five foot nine inches, 181 pounds with brown hair.
He is considered armed and dangerous.
Peel police have confirmed the abduction is connected to a homicide that happened at a parking lot in Brampton earlier Tuesday. A woman was shot and killed in the area of Airport Road and Queen Street East.
Police say they believe the incident was intimate partner violence.
