The car and wall have been assembled in the Trackhouse Racing lobby for fans to see and photograph. The lobby is open to the public daily.

Chastain Quotes:
This weekend is another anniversary of the “Hail Melon” and it now seems people can final see the car in person?
“So many people have asked where the Hail Melon car is at and if it’s going to be on display. We installed it in the Trackhouse lobby a few months ago. We also got a piece of the wall from track and put the car up against the wall to recreate the moment. Its on display for everyone to see and take pictures with. It’s fun to have that piece of history in the lobby for everyone to see.”
Do you enjoy going to Martinsville?
“Martinsville has been pretty good to me since driving for Trackhouse. Obviously, I’ve had one of the biggest moments of my career there but we’ve been consistently strong there over the last few years. Whatever Phil Surgen does to the car it really fits my driving style there. I can remember going to race at Martinsville just a few years with a car that had parts and pieces the other teams were throwing away, so I’ve definitely come a long way and it’s so much fun to drive a fast car at Martinsville. I enjoy driving to the track instead of getting on a plane and flying. It’s a great drive, especially in the fall with all of the leaves changing and then you arrive in Martinsville and the track sits down the hill, it’s really cool.”

NOTES
Onto Martinsville: Shane van Gisbergen will make his third Cup Series career start at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway. One of Van Gisbergen’s best oval efforts came at the 0.526-mile short track last fall when he secured a 12th-place finish. Earlier this year, Van Gisbergen finished 32nd after a late pit road incident set him back.
Last Weekend at Talladega: Van Gisbergen recorded his best superspeedway finish to-date, 11th, last weekend at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway. Van Gisbergen showed a strong performance, racing in the top-10 most of the first stage, before a pit road incident set him back at the end of Stage 2.
Rookie Records: Van Gisbergen holds the record of most wins by a Sunoco Rookie in a single season (five). The Watkins Glen (N.Y.) International victory makes Van Gisbergen the fastest driver to five Cup Series wins since Dan Gurney in 1968. Following his Sonoma (Calif.) Raceway win, Van Gisbergen became the first driver since Jeff Gordon to win three consecutive road course Cup races from the pole. The Auckland, New Zealand native is the only driver not from the United States to win at least four NASCAR Cup Series races.
Two-Time Inaugural Race Winner: Van Gisbergen has etched himself into the NASCAR history books by winning two inaugural NASCAR Cup Series races. The New Zealand native captured the win in the first-ever Mexico City race in June, and in 2023, Van Gisbergen won his debut Cup Series race with Trackhouse’s PROJECT91 at the Chicago Street Race.
Winning Crew Chief: Stephen Doran is now a five-time winning crew chief after securing the checkered flag at the Charlotte ROVAL earlier this month. Doran’s first win as a Cup Series Crew Chief in June at Mexico City with Van Gisbergen. Doran is in his first season as Van Gisbergen’s crew chief on the No. 88 Chevrolet and his second year as a crew chief at the Cup level.
Multiyear Extension: What began as a one-off PROJECT91 race in 2023, continued as a successful Xfinity Series campaign in 2024 and turned into a record-breaking NASCAR Cup Series run in 2025, will continue for years to come as Shane van Gisbergen and Trackhouse Racing announced a multi-year contract extension. The agreement will keep the former V8 Supercars driver at Trackhouse Racing.
The Partnership: As Trackhouse Racing expanded to a three-car NASCAR powerhouse, the team has leaned on SafetyCulture to help turn data into speed on and off the track. With the SafetyCulture platform in their toolbox, Trackhouse is uniting tech and data to make decisions both on and off the track. Learn more about the Trackhouse and SafetyCulture partnership at safetyculture.com.
A Win in SafetyCulture Colors: Van Gisbergen’s first win of his Cup Series rookie campaign came in SafetyCulture colors at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez in Mexico City in June. Van Gisbergen started from the pole position and showcased a dominate performance, leading 60 of the 100 laps and captured the victory by a 16.567 second margin.
Van Gisbergen Quotes:
Why is Martinsville Speedway an oval that seems to come a bit more natural to you?
“It’s still difficult but there is more downshift and a bit more technique with braking, and how you can use your tools and how you get the car into the corners. I am able to influence it (the car) a little more as a driver, unlike, the big ovals. You still see the regular oval drivers that are amazing at Martinsville. It’s a tough track. I got a decent result there last year, 12th, with some strategy. It’s a crazy race, I really enjoy racing there.”
How eager are you to check off a Cup Series Oval win?
“Yes, but I have to earn it. It’s hard to say I don’t have an oval win yet, but there are a lot of drivers in the field that don’t have a Cup (series) oval win, so I’m not alone. I know I still have a lot of work to do to get better on ovals. I feel like we’ve made some big steps the last couple of months, and we’ve had some really good runs going, but obviously want to get that oval win.”

NOTES:
Jockey Infinite Cool Underwear: Daniel Suárez will drive the No. 99 Jockey Chevrolet this weekend at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway. The Jockey Infinite Cool “see-through” car is a fan-favorite scheme that’s captured attention since its debut. It will once again create the illusion of transparency, depicting Suárez directly inside the vehicle in nothing but his Jockey® Infinite Cool boxer briefs. Featuring a cooling mesh pouch with new Jockey Heatwick technology, Jockey Infinite Cool underwear absorbs and transfers heat away from the body to stop sweat before it starts – perfect innovation for inside a race car or taking in the race from the stands on a warm day. The Jockey Chevrolet will turn heads on track, putting Suárez and Jockey front and center on race day.
Martinsville Stats: Suárez has 17 Cup Series starts at Martinsville. His best finish came in the 2018 fall event when he scored a ninth-place effort. His best qualifying effort at the 0.526-mile speedway came in the 2023 spring event when he started second, missing the pole by just 0.102.
Last Weekend at Talladega: Suárez scored a 12th-place finish last week at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway. In the final stage, Suárez ran as high a second place and overcame getting shuffled out of line late in the closing laps to score a respectable finish. He also led once for two laps early in Stage 2 at the 2.66-mile superspeedway.
Jockey & Trackhouse: Since 2022, Jockey has been a primary sponsor and Official Apparel Partner of Trackhouse Racing. The partnership includes primary paint schemes, community impact programs, retailer engagement, at-track premium apparel, and season-long marketing rights and branding.
Career: Suárez owns two victories (Sonoma (Calif.) Raceway 2022 and Atlanta Motor Speedway 2024) and three Busch Light Pole Awards – Pocono (Pa.) Raceway July 2018, Kentucky Speedway July 2019, and on the road course at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway August 2023.
Personal Life: Suárez married Julia Piquet, daughter of three-time Formula One World Champion Nelson Piquet, at a ceremony on July 30 in Brazil. The couple took a delayed honeymoon trip to Japan in the offseason. He is also now a dual citizen of Mexico and the United States. He took the American Oath of Allegiance at a naturalization ceremony last June in front of media, friends, the NASCAR industry and NASCAR Commissioner Steve Phelps, who gave the keynote address to the 48 new citizens from 28 countries who joined Suárez at the ceremony. The 33-year-old Monterrey, Mexico native arrived in America about 13 years ago, unable to speak English.
Mexico Success: Suárez returned to his native country in June as NASCAR held its inaugural race at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez in Mexico City. A week of fan and media activity included a 19th-place finish in the Cup race. But few will forget his drive from last place to first in the No. 9 Quaker State Chevrolet for JR Motorsports in the Xfinity Series race and the celebration in front of the raucous fans. It marked the first time in any NASCAR series that a driver had done that on a road course. His victory, coupled with Van Gisbergen’s, marks the first time since 2009 that international drivers have swept a race weekend.
Trackhouse Racing and Suárez Agree to Part Ways: Trackhouse Racing and Suárez announced on July 1 that they have mutually decided to conclude their partnership following the 2025 season. The move allows Suárez to pursue new opportunities in his racing career.
2026: Trackhouse Development driver and Xfinity racer Connor Zilisch will join Trackhouse’s Cup lineup in 2026. Trackhouse announced on Sept. 23 that Randall Burnett will serve as Zilisch’s crew chief in 2026.
Suárez Quotes:
How challenging is racing at Martinsville Speedway?
“I like Martinsville a lot. It’s a tricky little track but it’s amazing. I have had great runs and very bad runs there. The track at Martinsville changes so much because of temperature and rubber buildup and it might be our most temperature-driven racetrack. You have to base your plans on history. That’s why you see the same guys running well there all the time. Martinsville is really tough because you are in traffic all day long. Guys around you and bumping and shoving and it’s easy to lose patience and do something that can ruin your day. Qualifying well there is huge because track position and pit selection are very important. It’s critical to have a good pit stall because pit road there is so challenging there.”
What do you think of your Jockey paint scheme?
“Jockey has been a partner with us at Trackhouse for a long time and spend a lot of time and thought on their paint schemes. Not only does Jockey make us look good on the track but we get to wear their clothes. It’s one of the side benefits of having a sponsor that makes cool things to wear.”
