Zinc rose for a third day as the market faced its most severe squeeze in decades, while other metals were mixed ahead of pivotal US-China trade talks.
Spot zinc climbed 0.3% to $2,996 a ton on the London Metal Exchange by 11:30 a.m. Shanghai time. Traders are rushing to secure supplies as smelters rein in production of the metal and inventories in LME warehouses slide toward their lowest since 2023.
